Coach Dave was nationally recognized for his personal money management expertise by The Lampo Group (Dave Ramsey’s organization) and leads Counselor Connections, a best practices group of top financial coaches from across the nation. As a practioner of servant leadership, Dave actively volunteers as a leader for Financial Peace University and EntreLeadership in addition to being a sought-after guest speaker for area groups and churches across the Twin Cities.
Dave's Journey
In 1998, Coach Dave and his wife thought they were doing well financially since they had a house, cars, dined out on a regular basis, and vacationed somewhere new each year. It wasn’t until three years into their marriage that they realized they had acquired $58,000 in consumer debt and were sending $1,500 out the door to pay bills each month! Right then and there, they decided to start thinking differently about life and money. With their renewed financial focus, they eliminated all of their debt (minus the mortgage) by 2003 and have been debt free ever since! The newfound financial peace Dave experienced fueled his passion to help others do the same.
Coach Dave was first introduced to Dave Ramsey's principles while attending a leadership seminar and had an “ah-ha” moment when realizing he and his wife had applied many of the same principles when they were eliminating their own personal debt! A few years later, he became a certified financial coach through The Lampo Group (Dave Ramsey’s organization) and has helped hundreds of individuals find financial peace through personal coaching and financial wellness seminars since 2008. He once heard a man say, “If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life” and Dave has been lucky to experience that for himself.
Coach Dave grew up in rural Minnesota, graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in Business Administration and later married his college sweetheart. After spending a few years globe-trotting across the country (Georgia, Iowa, Missouri), they now reside in Maple Grove, MN with their two children, Evan and Taylor.
